Description:
What a wonderful early hand-made straw hat for the antique doll. It is pictured on a 24" Jumeau bebe for size comparison (doll is not for sale). The hat is woven straw in a maroon color with a splendid hand made floral decoration created from natural color straw and white pistils in the center. Made c. 1880 and is most likely French. The inside portion where the head fits is 4 1/2" across. The size brim edge to brim edge is 11". Nicely fits the 24" size Jumeau and would accommodate larger dolls, too. Very nice condition, especially considering the age.....some fraying on the grosgrain maroon ribbon tie. Also pictured with the beaded handbag, sold separately.
