Simon & Halbig Child w/Wonderful Lace Dress #146-28 SOLD

Status: Sold
Description:
This wonderful doll truly demonstrates the superb quality produced by Simon & Halbig--nice early version of the Simon & Halbig 1079 young girl doll, she boasts very pale bisque and earlier pale, fully jointed compositon body. Her lovely face is very nicely executed with very clear bisque, individual brush strokes on her eyebrows, with sleep blue eyes, nicely executed eyelashes, open mouth with upper teeth and wonderfully dimpled chin. Her bisque head is free from breaks, cracks, or repairs (one tiny flea bite nick at one pierced ear--she only has one original earing--she lost the other one along the way.) Her original body has some scuffing and a little bit of wear, but considering her age, is in very nice condition. Exquisite early multi-layered lace dress with silk lining--lace all around with additional detailing including large lace collar--this dress by itself is a work of art. She has her original brown mohair wig with original cardboard pate and wonderful lace bonnet. 18 1/2" high. Shoes are good quality replacements. Back of head with markings is also shown. Made in Germany c. 1895.
