Description:
Gorgeous hand stitched petite point dollhouse rug with a beautiful, classical design in blues and golds with a center medalion containing a floral design of roses and other multi-colored flowers. The floral theme is once again picked up toward the corners. A multi-hued gold ribbon design also runs along the edges further enchancing this gorgeous rug. 12 7/8" x 8 1/4". c. 1970. Beautiful condition. Came from the estate of a miniature collector from Maine who created this rug by hand for her own collection. I can't imagine how many hundreds of hours of needlework it must have taken to hand stitch this lovely dollhouse rug.
